A l’occasion de leur mission en France en marge du Salon International de l’Agriculture, le Ministre de l’agriculture, de la forêt et des pêches du Cambodge, M. Dith Tina et sa délégation se sont rendus dans les locaux de la Direction Générale de l’Alimentation (DGAL) du Ministère français de l’Agriculture et de la Souveraineté Alimentaire le 1er mars pour une présentation du programme de coopération BIG (« Biosecurity in pIG production »), programme cofinancé par l’OMC (STDF) et le Ministère français de l’Europe et des affaires étrangères pour une période de 3 ans (2022-2024).

La délégation française était composée du chef de projet Loïc Evain (CGAAER), de la conseillère aux affaires agricoles Marion Chaminade et des 4 partenaires opérationnels du programme à savoir l’Ecole Nationale des Services Vétérinaires-France Vétérinaire International (VetAgro Sup ENSV-FVI), l’Institut du Porc (IFIP), Agronomes et vétérinaires sans frontières (AVSF) et le Centre international de recherche agronomique pour le développement (CIRAD). elle a détaillé les objectifs et activités du programme BIG et échangé avec la délégation cambodgienne.

Le programme BIG vise à appuyer 4 pays d’Asie du Sud-Est (Cambodge, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam) dans leur lutte contre la Peste Porcine Africaine à travers la maîtrise de la biosécurité. Il consiste à produire diverses études de terrain et organiser des formations auprès des acteurs des filières porcines, tant pour le secteur privé (vétérinaires, éleveurs) que pour les autorités publiques (services vétérinaires, laboratoires de diagnostic).

Biosecurity in pIG production: Meeting with Mr. Dith Tian, Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Paris

On the occasion of their mission to France on the sidelines of the International Agriculture Fair, the Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mr. Dith Tina and his delegation visited the French Ministry of Agriculture’s Directorate General of Food (DGAL) on March 1st for a presentation of the cooperation programme : BIG (« Biosecurity in pIG production), which is co-funded by the WTO (STDF) and the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs for a period of 3 years (2022-2024).

The French delegation was composed of the project leader Loïc Evain (CGAAER), the agricultural affairs advisor Marion Chaminade and the 4 operational partners of the programme, namely the Ecole Nationale des Services Vétérinaires-France Vétérinaire International of Vetagro Sup (VetAgro Sup ENSV-FVI), the Pork Institute (IFIP), Agronomes et Vétérinaires sans Frontières (AVSF) and the International Centre for Agricultural Research for Development (CIRAD). They detailed the objectives and activities of the BIG programme and exchanged with the Cambodian delegation.

The BIG programme aims to support 4 South-East Asian countries (Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Vietnam) in their fight against African Swine Fever through the control of biosecurity. It consists of producing various field studies and organising training for stakeholders in the pig industry, both for the private sector (veterinarians, farmers) and for the public authorities (veterinary services, diagnostic laboratories).
